CEED
Centre CAP Site
Community
Access Program (CAP) sites offer free public Internet access
to help bridge the digital divide separating some people
from access to computers, the Internet and information technology
and the skills to use them. CAP sites are also known as
telecenters in some countries. The CAP in Canada is funded
in part by Industry Canada, a ministry of the Government
of Canada and partly by the social service agencies and
other institutions that host the CAP sites. CAP Sites are
organized into networks. The CEED Centre CAP Site is part
of the North Fraser FreeNet,
which is coordinated by the CEED Centre Society. The Pacific
Community Network Association is a collective of CAP
networks in British Columbia and the Yukon.
