Common Plant Pests
Cabbage worm
Characteristics
Imported cabbage worms are light green caterpillars with faint yellow stripes down their sides and backs. Their skin has a velvety surface with many fine hairs. They are more sluggish than most other caterpillars found on leaves. They chew large, irregular holes in leaves and often contaminate the parts that aren't eaten with dark green feces.
White butterflies with black-spotted wings lay pale yellow, bullet-shaped eggs on the underside of leaves.
