CEED Centre
Society
The CEED Centre Society,
formerly the Fraser Information Society, is dedicated to
community education on environment and development. The
Society operates several long-term projects out of the CEED
Centre in Maple Ridge, British Columbia, Canada.
CanadaGrowSmart
The
CEED Centre is planning a province-wide pesticide alternatives
education program revolving
around the CanadaGrowSmart
website. For now, we have the Campaign
for Pesticide Reduction! Maple Ridge website to present
information about alternatives for healthy gardens and lawns.
Pilot
School Gardens Project
The
CEED Centre has designed and built a school neighbourhood
garden at Glenwood Elementary School, Maple Ridge,
in partnership with the District of Maple Ridge, School
District 42, Fraser Health Authority, Canadian Cancer Society
and the Haney Farmers Market. The project is funded from
the Union of BC Municipalities Community Health Promotion
Fund. More
CEED
Centre hosted David Suzuki's
"if
YOU were Prime Minister..." tour in Maple Ridge in
February 2007, providing local residents opportunities to
send messages on environmental issues to policital candidates
and representatives.
